PRI from Adtran 908e - Earthlink

Hi all,

I have a PRI on an IPOffice 9.0 that will activate, but calls drop. I have tried two different IPO's (customer and my lab system). Earthlink states they had a tech out there last week with a TBird and they were able to make calls. I scheduled a vendor meet for next week, but I want to see what you guys have to say about it. I see a PRI message I dont like, and I am concerned this is my issue.

Is the number you are trying to send on their PRI, most providers will not allow fictitious numbers. Remove the Nsi(number) portion and try again this might tell you if the PRI is able to call out. You will need to program an incoming call route. Also is incoming working?

Are all 24 or 30 channels available on the trunk side?

If less channels are available (ie20) how is the trunk in IP Office setup (20 or 24/30 channels)

In which order does the provider use the channels (1 > 30 or 30 > 1)


When is the call disconnected? During a call or as soon as the called person answers?

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies and apologies for the late response.

TouchToneTommy, I will try the NI2 SourceNumber during the next visit, thank you for that.

Outgoing CID - I tried it with nothing after Nsi, and I tried it with the test number the provider gave me.

Incoming - Incoming calls were not working either, just drops the call

Errors - No errors on either side

T1 Config - I went over the protocols with the provider, PRI-T1, ESF/B8ZS, all 24 channels on both sides with provider 1 > 24.

The trace shows I received a Call Proceeding, then I received a Disconnect. I just dont know what to tell the provider about fixing their problem.

If their tech can make and receive calls on his test set, and you're dropping incoming and outgoing calls, then my guess is a protocol mismatch.

Make sure you're set up for PRI, NI2, 23 B channels, and channel 24 is the D channel (and make sure the provider is too)

This ended up be an issue on Earthlink's end. They said the IP addresses assigned to the integrated circuit were duplicated elsewhere in their network. Thank you for the help.
