Have 100 DCD 617MTS cards at both sites with top LED lit red in alarm state on both. We provide our own fiber to connect the 2 Merlins and have Transition Network T1/E1 to fiber media converters which both show a good connection across fiber.

Rebooted both systems to no avail. Extension dialing was working fine between sites for years and now nothing. I was playing around with some settings to try to set up remote access for Site B, but did not check status of extension dialing. After I made the changes, I tested extension dialing and it didn't work, but I never actually thought to look that the T1 was down until I spoke to a contractor who checked the programming and said everything looked good and that there was nothing in the programming I could have done to cause this type of error

Is there something in programming that could prevent the cards from talking to each other? My next step is to replace the 100 DCD cards but would like to avoid.

Do you have a backup card installed, and do you have automatic weekly backups emabled? If so, manually backup what you have now, and revert to the backup from last week or the week before, see if that solves your problem. If so, redo your newest programming, if not, revert back to today's programming and continue.

No the backup was not setup automatically...I'm gonna test it going across another fiber, then move from there. I doubt it is a fiber issue but want to make sure before trying to replace 100 DCD cards.
