I have an Option 11 with 2 PRIs.
The cards are TMDI (1.5MB DTI/PRI), NTRB21

ISSUE 00 T

The system has been stable for the past three years.
In the past couple of weeks, Loop 2 - Channel 22, and then about a week later, Loop 2 - Channel 23 went to LCKO.
In LD 60, I can disable the above two channels, do a STAT and it shows those two channels disabled. When I
re-enable these two channels, LD 60 says OK to the command, but a STAT shows them in LCKO again.

We called our provider, and of course the problem is not on their side.

Is it possible for these Nortel TMDI cards to have individual channels go bad or is it usually all or nothing.

Can I connect a loopback plug to the 2nd PRI and should that cause all the channels to show IDLE (assuming my TMDI
card is OK)?

Thanks,
Carl

Drop the Dch in 96, then disl the loop, enll the loop, when it comes up, and Dch establishes, see if they stay Idle.

What happens if you loop back your csu and dis dch and renable the dch....you should get a rel wrong mode.

It's usually an all or nothing situation for the TMDI card.

You can also enable or disable each channel individually and see if they stay up. The problem in these cases is usually D-channel messages either getting garbled or lost.

to enable/disable a single B-channel in LD 60: ENCH <loop> <channel>, and DSCH <loop> <channel>

If you get rel wrong mode you could take it out of loopback and force download the tmdi and the dch and bring it backup to see if it stays up without lockouts.

I and I'm sure a lot of other vendors have worked this problem many times. Most of the time getting no where with the carrier. If your carrier were to disable the channels or some may say "take the B channels out of service", the pbx will show the channels in a LCKO state. This is the only way I could ever duplicate this same channel status.

Check your system and see if you have the B-Serv package? If you implement with the carrier your channel's status will show better as to whose problem it is. B-Serv is a change to the dchannel programming.

Good luck!

There are patches for channels going into lockout
