I am installing a PRI onto a BCM system and am being told that it will always try to grab channel 23 for the first outgoing call if it is set up for descending, regardless if channel 23 is actually working or not. For instance, if I elect to only turn up channels 1 thru 15, it will still try to place the first outgoing call on channel 23, then try 22, then try 21, etc. Is this true, and if it is, is there a work around?

you must be able to go into line status and disable/ deprovision B channels

have not installed a fractional PRI in a BCM, but shd be similar to n*

That's what I would think, but how do you actually do it? The vendor I'm working must not know how to do it because they're saying it can't be done. Doesn't sound right to me.

go to diagnostics

trunk modules

Most likley BUS 7

B Channels

Slect the ch you want to disable

On the top menu bat select Configuration

Select Disable

Do that for each chanell you don't need.
