Can anyone help with this please?

We currently have 2 Sprint long distance pri's and we are switchting to Everest.

The switch is an NEAX 2400.

Is there any programming at all that needs to be done or is it just a matter of plugging the new line to where the old lines came into the switch?

Thanks for your help.

The biggest majority of the time you will not need to change anything. Assuming that you are using the same number of B Channels etc. Probably the most common thing that could possibly change is which ISDN protocol being used.

The bad news is that I have not had much experience with the 2400 so I couldn't tell you where to check this setting. Maybe someone else could point you to this command. However, it would likely not need to be changed as most carriers use the standardized NI-2 protocol.

Command ARTD RT (?) for both PRI (B) Channel

CDN 63 is 0= 23B + 1D
1= 24B + D

CDN 64 is 0= CCIS 1= N-ISDN2

Im assuming that your PRI's are load balancing set in ACSC?

Interestingly I was actually working on one of these at the weekend it was on a 140 and the EDocs I have say it is CDN 65 the CDN I actually found it on was 63 and the software (MAT) had incorrect information for the settings. It sounds as though this one moves around dependant on the system version you are on so be careful and look for it in this area by it's mnemonic "INT". Copy and paste from the manual below.

INT: Interface Specification (For ISDN):
(CDN = 65)
1: N-ISDN2
2: Australia
3: INS 1500 (NTT)
4: ITU (CCITT), ETSI
5: AT&T (#4/#5 ESS)
6: INS 64 (NTT)
7: NT DMS 100/DMS 250
8: Not used
9: TTC Q931 a protocol Tie Line (Japan)
10: Q-sig. (ETS 300 172)/IS-11572
