Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone has anymore thoughts on and issue I am having with a PRI. Actually, the PRI is fine, but something is wrong with our main unit.

Here is what I got: 2 IP Office 500 v2 boxes running 8.1. One of them is our main unit we use here at the store, the other is just a test unit. The test had some basic config on there, but nothing I have changed since we got it. I wanted to test a new PRI line on it before moving it to the main box so I didn't have to keep shutting things down in case I needed to make any changes. Got it working on the test box. It is running a regular combo card and then the PRI stacked on a DS 1-8 card. Tried swapping over to our main unit, but the PRI didn't light up. It is also running a combo card and a PRI stacked on a VCM 32 card. Tried it in slots 2 and 3. The Manager program sees the PRI and lets me into settings, but the lights don't come on and the line is not recognized.

I've tried swapping the PRI card from the known good test box into the main box (just the PRI card) - no change
Put the PRI cards back on their main cards and tried swapping them wholly (so the DS 1-8 with known good PRI in the main unit) - no change
Tested the card I wasn't sure about in the test box and it worked fine. So both the PRI cards and the main cards are OK.

Talked with our support guy and he was stumped as soon as I explained it. Said his best guess is that it is the box itself, which I have seen before, but usually I don't see the cards recognized at all if that is the case.

I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts.... Maybe a programming thing that I am missing? Really hoping the extra slots haven't gone bad, so happy to grasp at some straws :)

Am going to shut the main system down and backup/restore the config from the test box to the main tonight just for testing, but have awhile before I can do that, so any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

That's a US system, but the line shows as ETSI (European), that's not right? :)

>facepalm< I was sure I had upgraded the main box. My bad. Ok, so we're looking at 8.0 on it. But there is no PRI dropdown in the Line Subtype list for 8.0. Is that feature not available until 8.1?

Thanks for the catch Amriddle.

Oh, got it. Needed to move up one level in the help and found that I could change the line type of the PRI card to PRI 24 instead of 30. Didn't have to do that with the few other PRI cards I had configured... They were just set. That let me change the Sub Type to PRI and all is happy. Thanks again for the help!!

More pink:)

Kind regards

Gunnar
