PRI alternative set up for IP400 PRI 48 T1 EXPANSION KIT? possible?

We currently have an IP400 PRI 24 T1 EXPANSION KIT card and we would like to upgrade to a IP400 PRI 48 T1 EXPANSION KIT card so we can have a 2nd PRI working in case the first PRI goes down.

Instead of this set up, I would like to know if it is possible to actually get another IP400 PRI 24 T1 EXPANSION KIT and put it in the place of the 4 port analog trunk card that we do not use at all and just have 2 cards working at the same time?

Avaya tech told us that it would not be possible since the T1 connection works on top of the analog card which has to be present in order for the T1 to work.

Is this true? Has anyone been able to set up their IP Office with the two IP400 PRI 24 T1 EXPANSION KITs without the analog 4 port trunk card instead of just one IP400 PRI 48 T1 EXPANSION KIT?

? You need to say what type of IP Office control unit you have. The techs answer sort of says an IP500 except his answer was wrong for an IP400 PRI24 card.

Yes you can pull the atm 4 out and add in the new PRI card. They most likely thought you had a 500 and then what they said may have been true.

And then even that "tech" is wrong
An ATM4 would also been on top of another card but that not be a trunk card, that is analog station card
