Currently, I have some physican offices that had numbers that existed before the installation of our Hipath phone system; such as XXX-7376, which gets forwarded to 5480 which is a DID on the Hipath. Where can I find where this is located in expert mode?

Best Regards,
Nick

The number may have call forwarding by the provider - in that case you would check with the provider.

If these are physical lines connected to trunk ports like I do, then the trunk channel it is connected to is probably set up with a HOTDEST to go to that extension.

You can do DIS-HOTLN and tell it to show all destinations (sometimes there are multiple tables in there). if there is a destination number that is set to 5480 then that is probably the HOTDEST the trunks are pointed at.

If you are considering changing that, it is difficult to know everything that is pointed at that hotdest, so I like to create a new one and assign it to the things that need to be changed,

If you know the PEN the line is connected to (I assume the punch down block is labelled) then you cn take that PEN address of the trunk, such as 1-1-25-3 or something, and use the command DIS-TACSU along with the PEN to list the parameters set up for that line. One of them should be the destination. If it is blank then that's not the way they are doing it. If your installer did a top notch job, the phone number will be listed in the TCC-ID field for that trunk, which makes it a LOT easier to troubleshoot stuff.

Thanks for the tip donb01. I'll see if telco has it forwarded next.
