I get the following error on windows 2000 using arcserve 2000:

Backup Agent for open files warning
Warning - the following error(s) are preventing
Backup Agent for open files from operating correctly.
6/09/02 05:57:02 - Preview data size exceeded

I occasionally see this message when one of our servers running the backup agent is running low on disk space. Usually, but not always, there is an associated entry in the Windows event viewer. Perhaps another process is exhausting your disk space. In my case, the backup agent is installed on the same partition as a large print spooler. If enough users spool up enough print jobs, the backup agent will fail with the same error message. Freeing up the disk space in my case always solves the problem.

Hope the below mentioned helps u -

The message: "C3330 BAOF: operation disabled due to insufficient disk space"
was actually issued by Backup Agent for Open File informing user that due to
insufficient disk space on the 'preview data volume', the backup agent for
open file service has been temporarily disabled.
Preview data volume refers to the volume where Backup Agent for Open
files is installed.
BAOF requires a certain amount of free space in which to create temporary
preview file data -- the data that is accumulated for open files when
applications make changes while the backup client is active. If there is
insufficient free space, BAOF will prevent the backup client from opening
any new files, and will fail any ongoing client operations.
When sufficient free space becomes available once more, BAOF will
automatically resume its activities.
The minimum space required for preview file data can be configured from
Backup Agent for Open File configuration page. Please make sure the volume
where BAOF installed has at least free space of the minimum space required.
You can also move the preview data volume to another drive. To do this,
please refer to page 43/44 of Doc\BAOF\BAOF.pdf of ARCserve 2000 product
CD.
