here is an interesting one. My customer runs full time AA without a receptionist or operator. The 0 zero/timeout action is set to transfer to the general mailbox. If you dial in, get the autoattendant, and hit zero, it will send you to the general mailbox. Once in the general mailbox, if you hit zero again, it will dial the operator. What is the best way to keep callers from reaching the operator from inside the general mailbox.

With Merlin Messaging, you can send the DIAL ZERO TIME OUT to what ever you wish.

A good solution for your situation could be to send it back to the Auto Attendant.

Set the "Personal Operator" of the General Mailbox to go to an adjunct extension that you cover to voice mail and administer to point back to the auto attendant. Instant Voice Mail Hell!

We have our system set up to return to the automated attendant menu when a user dials 0. This works out pretty good. If you need instruction on how to do this, please let me know.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to configure so that the user returns to the automated attendant both when they press "0" and also when they dial an invalid extension (i.e. fully preventing calls from going to the operator). Any advice will be appreciated!
