I have a question. I am running windows 2000 Pro on my home computer, and I want to prevent my wife from logging me off. I know an easy way to do this would be to put her in a group with less power than mine, but I would prefer that we are both in the administrator's group so she is able to install programs. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Travis

You mean when your profile is locked? Make her a Power User instead of a Domain Admin.

Yeah, when it is locked...I tried power user, but it wouldnt let her do everything I wanted her to be able to do.

Hi - I think if you go to Control Panel , Admin tools , Local security policy . You can change what groups are allowed to perform what tasks , I'm not sure if you can stop other admins logging you off but you should be able to increase the permissions for the power-users group so it can perform whatever tasks are needed .
Hope that helps
cheers

Probably you can use WFP : Windows Familiar Policy or
Wife Fatal Policeman ...! However, you cannot avoid that your wife switch off the box.

But your question is not clear to me: you want prevent

"my wife from logging me off"

this means that you leave your user logged in and she
logout you an login her: it is your logout that would
be denied, but if possible also you could not logout yourslef.

Have I understood something ?

bye
