Hello,
We've been having problems with several of our Dell Latitude D531 laptops. They have been disabling the local area connection for no apparent reason. I've unchecked the box in Power Management "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

What else could be causing this issue? Thank you.

Check if you got Dell Quickset installed on them. You should have an icon in the system tray for it.

The default setting in Dell Quickset is to disable the NIC when on battery and with no network cable connected.

However I found that it sometimes doesnt switch back when plugging the network back in/putting the laptop back in the dockning station.

Installing the latest version of Dell Quickset usually fixes that problem. Or you could change the setting or uninstall it all together I suppose.

Thank you for the quick response! I chose to change the setting to activate when on battery. This will help us out greatly!
