We have an 8400 system with a PRI and a T-1 installed. There is a user that calls out several time a week to a long-distance # for 1-2 hrs, and we want to prevent this from happening.

Ideally we would track who the user/extension is, but we have no call accounting software, only the SysAdmin software. The phone bill does not show the ext, so we don't know who it is, but we do know the number dialed (from the bill).

So: Is it possible to have the system block a specific # from being dialed out? for example from within the system block all attempts to dial 1-123-456-7890. Or is there a way to show which ext. dialed that number?

Or is this not do-able?

Thanks,
HenryA

create a new COR and a new trunk group

setup the new cor so it can only make local calls

add users you don't want to have long distance access to that trunk group, set that trunk group to use your new COR.

or you could add the number to your ARS table.. which is probably much easier ;)

you should set the route pattern to DENY calls

so it should be like this
15555555555 11 11 deny

fluffheadsr,

Thanks, it works perfectly! I had to enter it 3 times, as a 7 digit, 10 digit, and 11 digit #.

a cookie for you..
