Ok let me first start by saying our sales team comes up with some of the most useless requests in the world. This being one of them...

When you log into your voicemail the operator comes on and announces press P to play your message. M to make a new message or U for user options. This is what I am looking at changing.

Our regional mitel guy told us that you can change those somewhere deep in the system so im assuming via vxworks?

Im almost tempted to just get them a book on thier abc's so they can find the P, M, and D keys.

In the meantime if you have come across this let me know if you know where I can find some instructions on this.

Thanks,
Chris

Embedded Mail? If so, the answer is no.

Nupoint, I think so.

6510, no problem.

Other VM - you're on your own.

It is not possible on Nupoint. The only option is standard EMEM prompts or the competitive Octlet prompts.

Since when is this not possible on NuPoint? Depends on the prompt set you load; mnemonic, numberic, or both.

EMEM you're out of luck, not sure about 6510.

On NuPoint you can only have the traditional mnemonic prompts (refered to as EMEM prompts) or the competitive Octel prompts.

Not sure what release you are on for NuPoint, but that is all that is available in Rls 11 and 12.

When Nupoint was MitelMail and Centigram it was possible to load custom prompts. I have not tried with the new MAS platform and it would not surprise me to learn that it is no longer available.

With the 6510, every single prompt is accessible and configurable. Also with the 6510 it is possible to use a custom TUI to modify which prompts are prompted, how they are said and the order.

Well I've got 3 seperate 640IP's sitting a few feet from me that originally had mnemonic prompts, and we changed to numberic because users calling from their Blackberries would be pressing "P" instead of 7 and wondering why they couldn't play their messages.

Forgot to add, the 640IP's here are all running various 11.0 releases. Maybe it's something special for the 640, I don't know.

Users can press ALT + P on their Blackberries and the system will dial a 7.

Users can press ALT + P on their Blackberries and the system will dial a 7.

But the system prompt does not say to press "ALT"...

snicker, snicker, snicker.

Unfortunately Justin, in this line of work we're quite often tasked with coming up with a technology solution to a user/training problem. Makes no sense, but if the work is billable, you do what you gotta do.
