A question to all top trainers. When selecting a trainer into ur company, what are the things you look at while they are giving the mock presentation?

Class control.
How they deal with irrelevant questions.
Thier presence(mobility, diction,annunciation).
How they explain questions.
Encouraging participation.
Materials they prepared. - Easy to read and see
were handouts prepared?

We also have classroom policies that we see if they address.
Like food in the classroom, someone sleeping, tardiness, and talking.

We just did interviews last week for my company and I can say that we were horribile to the trainer. We broke every rule to see if they would adress it. We did tell them up front that they were to treat us as if we were new employees.

I recomend allowing the applicant to select thier own topic for a presentation as they are more comfortable and you give them the best opportunity to show off thier design skills.
I remember for my interview I selected FDISK as my topic and built a web based virtual application to use during the presentation which was later moved into the curriculum that we used to train new employees.
