presence not displayed on soft console

i have a customer that is running 9.1 GA on a server edition IPO. this issue started when they were still at 8.1.x but did not get corrected with the upgrade. they have two receptionist, both at different buildings. one receptionist's soft console works flawlessly, one does not. the one that does not: doesnt display presence, cant search in the directory, when logging in cant search for the IPO or user and has to manually enter all the info. ive uninstalled and reinstalled soft console and ran the batch file. im still thinking this is network related being that the one that working is in the same building as the primary server. anyone have any ideas, or ways i can prove or disprove it being a network issue? Thanks!
 
I remember having this exact issue in R5. It was because soft console isn't/wasn't supported on a seperate subnet from the IPO - there also is a specific port for the presence portion of soft console so it's possible it's something related to that too, but in that case we had the IPO on 192.168.10.X and the person was in the other part of the building as 192.168.20.X. Phone Manager/SC worked in the 10.X range. It seems crazy the program would be limited like that but that seemed to be the issue and our avaya support at the time told us that.
