Hello,

First of all some information :
My SONY DV is well recognized by windows.
When connected to my computer, it appears in "My Computer" as well as in the control panel (Administration Tools/ .../Device manager)

I start the DV test with DV Expert :
Système 1394 DV / Standard 1394 Hardware / Sony DV Device
Here is the result : driver version : 2.0.80
bus initialization : ok
Interface : ok
Connection : ok

I'm able to capture using software like Scenanalyser, DVtools, MovieMaker ... etc.

My conclusion : everything is all-right with regards to the drivers, IEEE1394, connection, ...

I get an error message only with PREMIERE !
When I start PREMIERE with my handycam connected and switched on, ADOBE tells me that he encountered a problem and needs to close ... that's all !
The message appears just after the DV500 is displayed.

When I start PREMIERE with my handycam connected but switched off, I don't get any error but as soon as I start the capture I get the same result.

I hope tha somebody can help me to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Pino

You would be much better off using the last DV500 driver = 4.5 rather than the ancient version 2 driver. That might well cure the problem.

You will need to fully uninstall the old driver before installing the new one, which is available for download (big !) from

Hi, The actual version is the last one. The version mentioned in my message is probably the one of DVExpert. Anywhy, I have checked once more and the version I run at the moement is 4.5. I also installed the patch 4.5a.
This morning I uninstalled the DV500 driver and started a brand new one : no result, I always have the same problem.
