Hi,

I am trying to capture 1 hour VHS tape using premier6.5.
However, premier captured file size is only 4G no matter
what I tried. I have NTFS system with 180 GBb. 4G
only translate to 10 minutes.

Not sure if this is the inherent limitation of
adobe premier. Or, I can change the premier setting
to solve the problem.

Thanks,

What system are you using for capturing your video. 4Gb is the filesize limit for some variants of the AVI file format, which might be the cause of your problem. Have a look in your capture settings and see if there is an option to choose AVI Type 2 (or Open DML) rather than Type 1.

Scenalyzer from captures a series of files with seamless joins which is a neat workaround if all else fails.

Hello,

I'm using windows xp with ntfs, there shouldn't
be a 4G limit.

The tape is 1 hr long and it's almost impossible
stop at the exact location since I am using
VHS cassett player and it doesnt' have this fine
control.

You are not listening.

File system limitations due to FAT32 or NTFS are not the only consideration.

Reread my points about AVI file format above.
