Hi,

I tried out the technique of creating a preloading layer, which hides everything on screen until the page is completely loaded (using the onload event), as described in the following tutorial:

The only trouble is that all my Flash SWF's still show through, so instead of a lovely blank screen with an animated GIF saying LOADING, I get the white squares where all the Flash bits are. This kind of defeats the object of a preloading layer a bit..
I've even made sure that the Z-Index of the layer is set high so it's hopefully above everything..

Does anyone know why this is happening or what I can do to make sure the preloading layer works correctly?

Cheers,

Paul @ basepoint designz..

Unfortunately, plugin objects always sit on top of everything else and there isn't a great deal that you can do about it. Sorry :-(

IME, user's prefer to see stuff loading anyway, expecially on a slower connection - they like to know that something is happening.
