Hi All,

If were to have a studio professionally record a greeting for our company, would there be any way to get that greeting (mp3) onto the Avaya Partner System?

Also, how does one go about administering the phone system via LAN? The instruction manual doesn't cover this topic very well...

Thanks,
Sam

Only way with a Partner is to call voicemail and play the recording through the handset. If it's an mp3, They make a connector that attaches between the phone and the handset where you could then play it once logged in.

What voicemail system do you have? The Partner Messaging has a programming GUI that lets you download and upload wav files. Yo could convert your mp3 to the correct format and upload that.

I have "Avaya Partner Messaging".

How would I get into the GUI through a network connection to the system?

Thanks,
Sam

Go to support.avaya.com and create a login account. Then search for PARTNER Messaging 7.0 System Administration Software, or whatever release you have (R1, R6, or R7)

The Partner Messaging's default IP address is 10.0.0.42, so set your PC to a static address of 10.0.0.43 and use a cross over cable to connect. If you want to put it on your network, you need to change the Messaging's address, which will require either a modem or a serial cable.

Once you are connected, go to the Auto Attendant, click on the button for the greeting, and a player pops up. From there you can listen, save, or upload a file from your PC to replace the current one.

Just read the ReadMe file included in the download.
