Pre-populating a new column in Access

Does anyone know if it is possible, when adding a new column to an existing Access table, to pre-fill all the records in that column with some pre-determined data? I appreciate you can pre-fill new records one by one but we need to pre-fill even the existing records. Many thanks in anticipation....

You could make an update query like

UPDATE tblMyTAble SET MyNewCol = 'A Value';

and of cource by setting the default value of teh column in table design any new rows added after the time you make the change will be pre-populated with the default value Regards
