Hi,
Is there any way to modify or remove the pre-login message when connecting to AIX?
For example:

AIX Version 4
(C) Copyrights by IBM and by others 1982, 1996.
login:

We just want to see the "login:" only.

thanks for your help.

Hi,
you can edit value herald in /etc/security/login.cfg

palo

May be you don't have the herald variable on your [tt]/etc/security/login.cfg[/tt]. If you don't have that variable, you can add it to that file in the default section. The variable needs its value between double quotes, and it can be any C formatted character string. Note too, the user prompt must be included in it.
I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.
