Connecting into a CM 3.1 via a PPP connection..

I have done this about 100 times w/o trouble, but all of a sudden when I try to set up a connection; the terminal window opens, I can't type my PPP session login name.

There is no local echo and no charicters sent. It just stays at login: Tried to click with my mouse as though I got into the wrong window, but no use. Made sure the Windows Firewall was off for the session. now I'm stuck.

Some of the recent MS patches cause this.....look for:

KB911280, KB916281 and KB917953. Unistall them and reboot..you should be fine...

Try to uninstall all the MS patch (16-Jun) and reboot your windows

Thanks for the info, BUT this didn't resolve the problem. I did remove the KB file that I found and the one dated 16-Jun, then restarted, but no luck.
Is it possible that the 'updates' changed some setting, but it's remove didn't reset the options???

Revision: 1.1 ...
"Known Issues
• An issue has been confirmed involving dial-up connections which use the terminal window or dial-up scripting. Dial-up terminal windows or scripting is an older technology rarely used by most modern dial-up connections. If dial-up scripting is used in a connection, the connection may stop responding. This does not affect any dial-up connections that do not use dial-up scripting. This issue may affect direct dial connections to a corporate or university network or to some ISPs (Internet Service Providers). Microsoft is working on developing and testing a revision to this update which will address this issue. If you need to use these dial-up scripting or terminal window features do not install security update MS06-025 (KB911280) until the revised version is available. More information on dial-up scripting can be found at < . Virtual private network (VPN) connections are not affected by this issue; dial-up scripting is not supported in VPN scenarios..."

That sounds exactly like what my trouble is! Unfortunately I did install, but now that I have removed the KB but problem not resolved.... the first of the two links at the end of the last post, would not open for me... but I am investgating the second one with a 'automated script' for login.
