I have one field name QTY, on transformer - Measure Window I have put 64 bit floating point with with precision 3, but on powerplay it is showing zeros though it has some figures.

Note that : I have tried with 16 bit integer & 32 bit integer but the results are same

Can anyone help me out.

A few things to check.

In PP, make sure you are displaying ALL decimals. I suspect you will find your qty has been devided by a power of ten. (for example 375 MIGHT show up as 0.00000375)

If this is the case, you have a few options to clean it up.

If the orginal report is from Impromptu, replace QTY by a calculated rounded field (i.e. Round-near(QTY)) Save the Query & see if that fixes the problem.

If not you can use transformer to fix it up. On the QTy field in the DATA SOURCE box, right click & change the properties-input scale box. In the above example you would enter "8" in this box.

Similary you can do the same in the measures box QTY.

Good luck

Boss, my database is on Ms-Access, if I change the field size from "decimal" to "float" then it shows figure on PP but for decimal it shows all zeros.

I have checked through MS-Access query the figures are showing correct.

for decimal precision is : 15 and scale is :6

Please point me out where I am doing mistake.

In transformer , you have to define the decimal FORMAT.
Even with a Precision of 3 , you can have "Display 0 decimal".
So open your QTY measure in transformer , go to the FORMAT tab, check the figure you have in "Decimal Places".

Even though I put decimals on FORMAT. It is still showing zeros.

Can you please check at your end with Ms-Access DB for small sample of data where one field data type is numeric, precision 18 and scale: 3 and let me know...

Thks in advance

If your number is database is : 0.0003

You specify in your DATA SOURCE for this field that
INPUT SCALE = 4 , then for the measure you specify
OUTPUT Scale = 4.

Have you tried that??
