Over the past week I have created 72 reports (for year-end analysis) using Powerplay client 6.1 in REPORTER mode. I Save them as a .ppr file. I "Publish to Upfront" as a PDF.

Here is the problem: When going to the Cognos Upfront web page to use these reports, some of them open fine....some of them ask for the Cognos User Id and password for every new Internet Browser session....if you enter the user info, the report opens fine, and then you can open the same report repeatedly until you close the browser session. Next time you open an internet session and go back to the same report, it again asks for your User Id and password. Most of these reports are copied from each other with minor modifications. Why would some reports ask for User info and others not ?
How do I fix these reports to NOT ask for User Info each time ??
Thanks

Keep your browser session open. You may not close your browser session. It is a security feature. If you don't want to enter your id and password for every browser session opened, and you are the only user, then change your model to not use the security.

Thank you for your reply - but I am NOT the user(I wouldn't have published to Upfront if I could just open the client .ppr -- I am an IT person, who do to the lack of a super-user in the field, must alos act as report admin -- The users are my 120+ field sales people. They get very annoyed that the have to enter an Id and password to get into Cognos to begin with, then when they need to enter the info again just to open a PDF, they really don't like it.

Again, some of the reports don't ask for the user info and some do -- they are ALL built over the same .mdc cube file.

I created them all the same way. Why do some require user info and others do not?

How do I set the reports to NOT ask for this Info ??

what is your environment ?

are you nt or other?

are you using access manager?

possible solutions are you nt authentication to handle logins or providing access to the database thru access manager
