Thanks for the posted question. I tried to ask the same question and found out that it is already posted. So I second it with a red star.
Can someone please help us?
I am considering use PowerPlay Web for a big project, but would like to know what do I have to sacrifice from say, PowerPlay/Reporter. I assume all features in PP/Explorer are there.
Well, besides the obvious 1 install per user (client) vs 1 install for all users (web). Here are the major differences.
1- You can't create true Reporter style reports on the web. Only Explorer type reports with some Reporter functionality thrown in.
2- No 'slicing and dicing' like you can do in Reporter style reports.
3- You can only access cubes and reports when attached to the network. In other words, you can't disconnect and create reports on your PC like you can with Windows client.
4- Ability to use cubes from multiple namespaces on the web.
