Hi all, I have a powerplay report that has mutiple layers and is quite large, 5 nested levels. It takes about 2 minutes to build the report when I refresh, but now I need to save the output to excel to allow someone else to query the data. When I select save as excel it never finishes saving, and usually hangs the powerplay process.

Please help

Cheers

What version are you using? I had the same problem with version 5, and the problem never got fixed dispite our best attempts. With version 6, the problem went away.

Hi Bruce,
I am using PowerPlay User version 6.61(R2), they have sent me 7 but as yet I haven't had the balls to upgrade everything. Usually this works OK with 6.61, but for some reason it has just stopped working. I upgraded to WinXP pro recently, have you heard any probs with this op system?

Thanks

Dave

Version 6 is NOT compatable with WINXP. To use XP you have to use version 7.

Hi there... I had this same problem when using Version 7. We run Version 7 on a W2K box. When I tried to export large or complex reports to csv it would die half way through.
Cognos informed me that it's a bug and that there would be a fix for it sometime in the "new year". haven't seen anything yet. You can try going to the Cognos support site and see if a fix is available yet.

Hope this helps!
