Hi,

I have a Poweredge 2850, RAID 5, with 5 disks. One of the disks is blinking amber. The server is still functional. What do I need to do? I have run the poweredge diagnostics and it reports the tests as successful. However if I go to the Openmanage Server administration it shows the fifth disk in my array as failed.

Should I try a rebuild?

Thanks in advance!!

Steve

Yeah first thing would be to pull the drive out and re-insert it, that should trigger an automatic rebuild. If the rebuild fails call Dell as you need a replacement drive, when that arrives just swap it with the failed one (again the rebuild should trigger automatically).

Hopefully you still have warranty right? or you'll have to buy that drive...
