We are currently working Windows 2000/NT and PowerBuilder v6.5 (Not: 6.5.1). Some of the aps are on v7 and some of them do use the PFC, too. We are considering upgrading the O/s to XP. Has anyone had any problems/issues with PowerBuilder v6.5 and v7 when the O/s is upgraded to Windows XP?

Thanks,

We recently began using a v6.5 application on XP. We have encountered some problems related to the display. Configuring XP back to the older display format corrected most of the problems but we are now upgrading to PB8 and experience no such problems.

I am trying to make an application built in PB 8, Windows NT work on windows XP. What function, variable can be used to distinguish the different Windows OS including Windwos XP.

FYI -

1. Pb 7.0.3 is the earliest version of PB that is certified to work with Win2K. PB8.0.3 is the earliest version certified to work with WinXP.

2. Use the ENVIRONMENT object to capture the operating system information from the client PC.

3. I >>>STRONGLY<<< recommend upgrading to PB8.0.3 for all of your applications. It's a more stable product, it's got LOTS more functionality, and it supports (more or less (mostly more)) source control. If you've seen PB7 then you're already used to the new IDE.
