I would like to add a second internal hard drive to my Powerbase 240. Does anyone know whether the motherboard will support a second drive? If so, how big? Where can I get an ide cable that will support more than one hard drive?

Sorry haven't heard of a Powerbase, do you mean Power Book?

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Here are the Specs on the Powerbase 240

no idea if the motherboard IDE controller supports a second drive, but a PCI IDE controller would

Mind you, this costs more than the value of your Mac

a dual headed IDE cable is just $5

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Guess I got that wrong then! But it is a clone ; )

Thanks for the input. It is now a moot point since the machine died in transit from one location to the other. Power lights come on, cd rom activates, but nothing else happens.

Anyone know where I can find a decent used Mac that will run OS 9? I have a ColorstyleWriter that I need to use up some ink tanks on.
