Hi,
I administer a small office network using windows 2000 server and win 2000 / win 98 clients.
Something has occured which has demoted all user accounts so that they can no longer install sofware or make changes on the win 2000 client machines. After a little investigation it has become apparent that the accounts in question have been demoted from Power Users to Users and the Power User option is no longer visible in Group Policy.
If I check security settings for folders on the server, where it used to list power user as one of the user types it now has a greyed out user picture with the number S-1-5-32-547 next to it. This I beleive is the SID for power users.
Anyone know why this may have happend?
