The seems like my power supply keeps blowing about every 3 months and all the will come on is the CPU fan and the power supply fan. NO monitor beep codes or HD lights of cd door opening??? Was just playing GTA3 and bamm out went the lights???

Any ideas so I don't have to buy a power supply every 3 months?

THANKS ALL!!!!!

This may be caused by such things as power spikes, overheating, or shorts.
Your power supply can also die if there are a lot of peripherals draining power.
What brand/power rating are you using? ~Apex1x

Yes tip!
Buy a decent power supply (Antec, Enermax etc) 400watts+
And some surge protection. Martin Please let members know if there advice has helped any.

A new Power supply every three months is telling me something.. it does not matter what brand name power supply you buy.. I strongly suspect your problem occurs at the plug in the wall... Go to radio shack and invest in a $5.00 tool that plugs in to your outlet in the wall and it will tell you if you have reversed poloris (when the white and black electric wires are not installed to the outlet properly and check and see if outlet is properly grounded) The unit has lights that indicate if there is a problem or not... And your ground wire must be good ground wire not some crappy ground bypass for heaven sakes!!!
Investing in a surge protector is a good investment just incase you are running the microwave oven on the same wire as your PC.. Now if you have no wiring problems starting at wall then make sure the dawg, ferret or whatever toothy pet you got on the loose has not been teething on your plug wire.. Now if all that is not the problem.. Well next resort is did you buy a power supply that is over working itself?? It may be that you are buying a low wattage power supply for the amount of juice your PC is consuming to be on safe side a 400 watt power supply would be adviced if you have installed a bunch of gizmos that are drawing juice from your motherboard.

May the force be with you!!!!!
