Power Shell: Copy Mailbox??

Hello Friends,

We used Exchange 2007 in our environment.

We desire to use PowerShell to copy mailboxes to another server on the same LAN but i don't know PowerShell to use.

1:: Somebody should kindly give me cmdlet to copy (Not MOVE) mailboxes from a mailstore (Database) on one server to another mailstore (Database)on the othe other.

2:: I will also like to know how long it will take to copy 100GB of Mailboxes from one server to the other.

1. You'll likely need to do an export-mailbox to a .pst file, then import-mailbox on the other server.

2. No idea. Can't say without knowing the environment, but look for it to take quite a few hours.

I don't think you can copy mailboxes with a direct cmdlet. How would a client then connect to the mailbox when there are two active copies?

Not sure that's the intention here. Mainly just to copy the data. At least, that's my impression.

My intention is to copy mailboxes to another server while keeping the original one.

Im doing this to ensure that the original mailbox is intact if there is problem during the copy.

Well, then, if your intent is to then have the user start using the "new" mailbox (once the copy completes), you can't do that.

You would need to move the mailbox.
