What does it mean when there is a red light on the acs processor unit?

actully I suspect you will wind up replacing the processor but try defualting first .

had this happen a few acs's. just replace it. try and pull the programming to a pc so that it is esay to replace.

One more trick - works occasionally.

Using a QTIP and standard rubbing alcohol - rub hard on both side of the gold edge connector on the back of the module. Small particles of dirt/grime in the edge connector on the 5 slot backplane or on the module edge connector can cause connection problems. Not usally a red light, but lots of other issues with other modules.

The ACS processor's circuit board has to have complete and accurate connectivity through the 5 slot backplane to insure that all the components "play" well together.

Simple step to take and it does work. We wipe down the gold plating on the edge connectors on every mod we get in - even new ones!
