I have an 8 x 24 module and the power went out and i lost all of my settings, before i have all 5 phone lines listed down the left side of my display. Now that the power went out i only have access to two of our phone line and the rest of the buttons that used to be phone lines are now transfer buttons. so i have several issues.

1.) How do i get my lines configured, and added to all of the phones again.

2.) How do i make hans free work again?

3.) how do i ensure this doesent happen again?

Thanks so much in advance!

HA! I Found the solution to my own problem! so i am going to reply to my own post by searching... how ironic ...

YOUR GOING TO LOSE IT AGAIN UNLESS YOU GET A UPS OR CHANGE THE DR SOFTWARE CART. THE BATTERY IS DEAD IN IT

Yeah i placed an ordder fora sizeable usnit today... i have had power outages before... never a looss of setting this extensive.. is there a proper way to shut it down so that i wont loos my setting when i try to hook it up to the new UPS?

NO, IT JUST DEPENDS ON HOW BAD THE BATTERY IS WHEN THE POWER IS PULLED

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

so the phone system has a battery? That keeps its settings? ... should I replace that in conjunction with the UPS?

I'VE HEARD OF IT BEING DONE, BUT AS A TECH ALL WE DID WAS SELL THE CUSTOMER A NEW ONE

Perhaps i quick pull of the power will not effect my settings? do i have any other option? it took a long time to re-configure that whole system.

THAT'S ALL YOU CAN DO

Thanks Perrypj!

Anoyone else have any comments?

you can back that 8x24 up with norstar manager. And as the guys said earlier, get a new software cartrige for your system. Otherwise, you will become a pro at re-configs.

You will lose settings evrytime you pull power from unit.

There are three batteries in the KSU.......Two in the cartridge that holds the software and one on the backplain of the KSU......

If your Software cartridge comes apart in two sections you will see the batteries in the NT5B49FA section of the cartridge.....That is really the only piece you will need to replace. Unless of course you are good with a soldiering iron and can get the correct batteries to go in the unit......might have a few.
