Well this is a common problem, when I run a screensaver and then have my computer turn the monitor off after a certain amount of time my computer locks up. The only way to make it respond again (when all I really should do is just move the mouse) is by hitting ctrl-alt-delete, then pressing the down arrow. This turns the monitor back on. It then says the screensaver is not responding. So I close it and I'm back to normal. This happens with every screensaver I use. Not a critical problem, but an annoying one none the less.

I looked at the microsoft website for help and this is a common problem which just needs special deck.cpl and powercfg.cpl drivers. Unforetunatly Microsoft does not offer them through direct download, and they never respond to my emails asking them to send me the file.

Anyone have a work around for this problem? You can find the specific article at...

Thanks,
Steve

i am having a similar problem using WebShots as wallpaper on Windows ME. I have it set to change every 15 minutes. Works fine, except if you are doing a game or having anything with graphics running. When the wallpaper changes, the graphics in the active application get fried. Anyone know how to fix this short of disabling the change option?
