we have a customer that we just installed a ip406 with a pri, 2 ds-30's, and a 8 port pots module. worked fine at our office but when at the customer location any of the 5410/5420 phones plugged into one of the digitial ports on the 406 unit will not work they come up to the screen on the phone that says "Please Wait..." and get stuck there. we also have an issue with their night bell that is supposed to ring out in their shop at night but the volume on it is pathetic and gets worse after the first ring. so all of this leads me to think there may be a power issue of some kind?

any thoughts?

the DS30 Modules have been upgraded to V3.0(40) firmware as well as the IP406 I hope.
(had the same problem on a in house system untill I completed the upgrade)

yes they have both been upgraded. they have to be to use the 5400 series phones.

i had exactly the same problem - had 2 sites up and running fine for a few weeks then suddenly, all random, 54xx phones stopped working, similar to your issue. Reboot didn't seem to do the trick, so we got them to power cycle the whole lot and it seems to have fixed the problem....so far! They are also on a field trial release of V3 which fixes the volume problem on 54xx handsets.

New IP Office 412 installation....DNIS on inbound trunk is not recognized though verified through telco that right digits are coming. Now in switched scenario instead of dedicated phone service because had to point toll frees to DID. Any thoughts on DNIS numbers failing to be recognized by IP Office? Thanks Gary

Run Monitor to check that you are indeed recieving the correct info
It would not be the 1st time I have had a telco telling me it is setup correctly only to prove THEY have made an error.

Open a copy of Manager on a PC, make sure manager has logged onto the system with the config open. Don't make any changes.

The phones will download their relative files from manager. I know this sounds weird but this is how i fixed a phone like this.

If you make changes in manager the 54 series handset will freeze halfway through the download and not finish its file download.

I am trying to set up a night bell to ring over our External paging system, and i dont know what i need to do to make this work, any suggestions would be great.
