Hi,

I am a novice with CS1000 systems. Actually I haven't got a clue how to properly manage the system. But I inherited the system so I have to make due.

I need to power down the phone system to install a UPS system in the dataroom.

My question is simple. How to I properly shutdown the system? Do I need to run a backup before? If so how is this done? I know how to shutdown the Callpilot & Symposium servers (Windows 2003).

I'm not sure how to shutdown the other components (Signaling servers & Media Gateways) can I just unplug the power?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Use LD 43 and do an EDD to do a backup. I normally disable my T1s before a shutdown. You do that in LD 60. If you have PRI, you will beed to disable the DCH for each T1 in LD 96 first. Then go to LD 60 and disable the T1 loop.

The sig servers, MG1000E and core cabinets can just be powered off.

Shut down in this order:
1. Call Pilot
2. Symposium
3. CS 1000

Power up in this order:
1. CS 1000
2. Call Pilot
3. Symposium
