Anyone else having issues with demo units dying at the power connector? I guess it is due to plugging and unplugging all of the time.

Just curious.

Honestly I think most of us have migrated to the demo anywhere platform. Offers more functionality an less to haul around

Power supplies dying happens to IP500v1 systems often because of the power cycles.
I can imaging that this happens to the IP500v2 too.
Just get a new IP500 and put in the dongle.
The licenses are on the dongle so that should not matter.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You're dragging the demo kit around to potential customers?

Keep in mind that there could be a faulty grounding. When you pull the plug, a voltage peak could reach into the PSU.

Noticed that the ground pin is slightly longer in the IPO socket and the wall plug?
It's to ensure that any built-up current/voltage in the cabling/cabinet is channelled away.
If the grounding is bad, you might see a short spark when you pull the cable out.

For 5 years I've used the same 500v1 for on-site demos, fixed in a portable PA rack box (like the traveling DJ's use).
Fitted with surge protected outlets inside and a vibration damping exterior, it kept the chassis alive for more than a hundred demos.

It's pretty embarrassing to show up at a customer with faulty equipment, the extra protection was a good investment from day one.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Best swap the chassis at some point Gunnar, or you won't be demonstrating any 9.1 features :)

Personally I do well without a demo kit, I motor-mouth them into submission [smile]

Star for that Gunnaro - I agree that VMPro is a major selling point, IP Office just a telephony gateway for it. Sometimes wish they could make ICR and ARS be programmable like a callflow, that would be a nice phone system.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
