i hope i can explain this clearly. I have an 800 number that, when called in Dallas, is supposed to ring to POTS line 214-752-7739. This POTS line is supposed to ring on attorney x's phone, but there's no key on that phone indicating this number rings on his phone. I need to A) figure out whether that POTS line terminates on a PVR somewhere so i can put the PVR on his phone and B) i need to understand how/why these calls are routing to someone else entirely. The office manager is getting these calls and he doesn't have this # on his phone either. I am thoroughly confused. thank you.

You need to check if the trunk route the POTS is associated with.

LD21 check AUTO, if yes check the trunk & see what ATDN is set to. It should be your target extn DN

Are you leaving the PBX, when you call out or are you just tryingto get it ring inthe same office? Usually as soon as you dial 1-800 you just left your PBX and went out to the long distance carrier, in which case...

You need to open a trouble ticket with your Long Distance carrier, whoever owns the 800 number and see how they have it routed. This 800 should be carried by your long distance carrier to that office, not by your PBX.

First, determine on which DN key (SCR or PVR) of the office manager's set that these calls are terminating on. Place a call to the number and TRAC the office manager's TN to make sure. Then print all your PVR routes and trunks to determine each PVDN programmed. Also, as wdhb indicated, print all routes that have Auto-terminate set to YES and print the trunks within these routes to identify the ATDN. (Note: for PRI routes, the ATDN is programmed in the RDB. For DTI and analog trunks, the ATDN is programmed in the TDB.) Now cross-reference the PVDNs and ATDNs with the DN key on the office manager's set.

i misworded my original question. People call that number TO my Dallas office, not FROM my Dallas office. DDionne, i don't know the key it rings on. that's the problem. doesn't matter anymore, as i'm just going to reroute it to a DID. thanks for your help.
