While running postgresql databace server software, what password do I use?, then from the 5550 ip console Help menu. Tools - option- Database(can fill-in the boxes for Database Password and Database server name of my own or is there a specific name and password to use) I just need to get this call history working. My client is on my neck. Pls I need urgent help

Hello Conquer2006,

During the installation of postgresql they ask you to enter a password. This is the password you should use for the 5550 call history.
Open the english help file en search for "Setting Up the Postgres Database". This will quide you to setup call history.
First set up a role and then the database. (othern than in the help file)

For the ip-adres of the server I will always use 127.0.0.1 if I installed postgresql on the console PC.

Good luck.

Appie

After enabling the call history from the tools database and run the test option. it always prompt ...... Database server not reachable. what do I do pls? can anyone login through my pc using teamviewer to confirm. Am trying to achieve this on a Cluster systems. My skype ID is agomoh1.

My Cluster Mitel 3300 system 5550 console software are 4.2.0.28. which software level of PostgreSQL will I install on the PC housing the console software?

Leave the port number 5432. What OS do you use on the console PC? X86 or x64?
If you using Windows 7 don't use the path Postgresql advise. I always install the software on c:\postgresql.
You can use the latest version of Postgresql. Use 127.0.0.1 as the server address

The console PC os is windows 7 professional, service pack 1, 32bits. it is X86. To Configure the Call History feature:

Start the console.

Choose Options from the Tools menu.

Click Database.

Check the box beside Turn ON Call History feature to enable this feature.

Enter the password.

Enter the name or IP address of the database server for Call History.

Press Test Connection to validate the database connection.

On this page, which password and (name or Ip address should I used) If I run the test error message prompt( database server not running)

Which areas do I use the server ip address 127.0.0.1

First of all, did you Setting Up the Postgres Database as described in the help file?
If not do this first.

- Start the console.
- Choose Options from the Tools menu.
- Click Database.
- Check the box beside Turn ON Call History feature to enable this feature.
- Enter the password. -> The password you given during the installation of Postgresql
- Enter the name or IP address of the database server for Call History. -> 127.0.0.1
- Press Test Connection to validate the database connection.

the database server is now connected but I still don't see the call history when I click on the call history button. Please what do I do next?

Please I have three (3) 3300 in cluster, and four (4) 5550 ip console. I have done the call history set-up( postgreSQL) an on the 5550 console display they all sure connected to database. the indicator is green but I cannot see the call history till now. It looks like the database is not running, who can help me on the next step to take to achieve the call history display.

Anytime I click on the call history or My call history it shows ( No record found) Please I need urgent response.

There is a problem with the password. Check the password in Postgresql and make sure it will not expire.
Or the password is wrong in the 5550 application. That the server is connected is no guarantee the password is right.

Thanks for you assistance, was expired before, after changing the date all worked

Concerning installing the call history: I have some very good documentation from Mitel and from this site as to how to install the sql database and configure the call history, but since I have not done this before, I don't know how much time to allow for the install. I will be putting this on individual console PC's...there are 4 5550 consoles. Can someone give me just a general idea of the length of time to install this on a Windows XP Pc?
Thank you
Ron
