Dear All,

I am running postfix-2.6 with cyrus-imapd-2.3 server. Recently one of my user complains that when he sends mails some time grabage character are automatically added in mail body. Strangley if he send mails to more than one person some people get mails in correct format, but some people got garbage mails.
Kindly help to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

My user are using outlook mail client for sending mail.

Sounds more like a client problem (character sets, character encoding) than a server one, mail servers do one thing very, very well, they ARE remarkably consistent when something goes wrong.

You should get your user to find out what the receiving mail client(s) is/are that exhibit this problem. You may find that the 'good' one are all M$ clients while the 'bad' ones are not, because M$ clients will handle perfectly well the crud that Outlook (Word/IE rendering) can churn out, while better behaved clients 'choke' on it.

see forum605 for mail client problems.

Chris.

Thanks Chrish for your reply. You sounds correct as we have got uninstalled mail client from user system & installed it again & problem gone. So in this case it must be the mail client which was culprit.
Thanks again for your reply and sharing the link.
Regards,
chandra
