I have a customer that we just upgraded from a 500v1 to a 500v2 on release 9.1.7. I set them up with post dialing to be able to play a message with the press of a button. It was working up until the time of the upgrade. I have unchecked the inhibit off-switch forward/transfer on both the System tab and user tab. I have found that the issue lies with my phantom extn not being able to forward to a short code of *110 dial paging. Everything works before my phantom and everything works after.
I have deleted my phantom and recreated not luck. But what is weird is I can forward to *17 and to a different short code of *888 "Recordings" vm collect and that works just fine, but not to a dial paging action. I did upgrade them last night to 9.1.9. Didn't fix it.
Any thoughts thanks.

My guess is that they purposely broke it so you need to buy voicemail pro... similar to not being able to use most shortcodes/phantom users with shortcodes from an autoattendant or DTMF breakout.

Well, that's what I'm thinking, I just needed someone else to say the same thing.

can you provide more detail on exactly what you were trying to achieve?
I cant see why you would have a phantom user diverting to dial paging anyway

ok, what I'm trying to go is have a button on a phone that is a short code of *210 VM Collect "Code110". That goes to a start point in VM Pro called "Code 11" that is a post dial action that will play a pre-recorded message. The post dial action is then going to an phantom extension of 310 that is forwarded to a short code of *110 Dial Paging 810. This is so employees can hear this message. This is a make shift panic notice so if a employee needs immediate help, they can press the button and it pages the building. I have determined that the trouble is the forward on the phantom to the short code for dial paging. I can put different short codes in and it works just fine, just not dial paging. I has been working for about 5 years until the upgrade. What concerns me the most, is I have other customers that is also using this to run fire drills and earthquake drills. I hope this is enough information.

My guess is Avaya thought the exact same thing and made it no longer work.

What concerns me is that you even considered using the IP Office for this, don't do it, it's not designed nor rated for it.

They need an evac or proper panic alarm system for such things with built in redundancies etc, someone may get hurt (at best) and then you're in for one hell of a legal pounding....and that's looking on the bright side :)

your right about, this was suppose to be a temp fix but you know administrators.

Always say no, even to temporary. When it works and it's free they have no reason to change it, now it's your ass on the line.
Give them written warning that you will remove the service at a certain time and date and that they need a replacement by that time, no excuses and no extensions :)

OK I think i understnd what you are doing.

why not simply have the VM transfer directly to the short code there should be no need for the phantom user.

Better yet why not simply have the button call an analog extn with an emergency bell connected?

when you are setting up a post dial action, it is asking for an extn. I have tried the short code still didn't work.

The funny thing now is, I have a different customer that wants to use this for their back door, so when FedEx pushes the door phone button it currently just rings 3 phones and they would like it to announce "there is a delivery at the back door". Because sometimes they can't hear the phones ring.

why not just alert a bell, would work much better for the fedx situation

We set up a short code like 888/Dial Paging/(page hunt group ext) Saves the phantom forward.

Yes. Just tested it, it is on out lab system.

Starts with a short code *87\voicemail node\autopage
VM Pro short code autopage with a goto pointing to the module.
The module is a post dial specifying the wave and the 888 extension.
The extension is a short code 888\dial paging\ and the hunt group extension.
