I have several phones that are ringing constantly.
They all seem to be on the same card; bay 4, slot 14, cct 1-8
Is it possible to reset card w/o rebooting system?
I noticed that line 1 is lit on the card constantly (assuming I'm looking at the right card). This bay biz on this system is 'funky', not what I'm used to.
Thaks!

What system is it?

You could try to 'load' the card:

LOAD <plid of card>

Thanks for the reply.
It's a SX-200 Digital
You may get some more info about me (how little I know of this 'beast') and what I got by looking at my previous thread.
Not sure if you can do that, but tell me I'll give you more info.
Thanks again!
PS: In the mean time I got 8 rooms our of order because of this. I'm in trouble w/o a clue to fix it.

Yes, you can remove the card while the system is on. As well you can reseat the card with the system is on too. No need to reset the entire system.

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

Really? No action needed at the console?
Now, I got to make sure I got the right physical card.
Did you get a chance to see the pix I posted on the previous thread? Or shall I repost the pix?

By the reply I got on the pix, seems I got the right card.
So, I'm off to reseating the card, hope it's ok. But I'll wait just a bit in case some one says different. I don't need to create chaos.

Most cards on a 200 can be removed and reinserted under power.

The ones that cannot clearly state so on the front (Bay control, MCC, Pwr Sup)

I think the Universal and VM are the only one that can't for cards plugged into slots 1-8.

As per your other post, Same goes for analog Bays slots 1-15.

The card will say "Do Not Remove under Power" if it can't.

Well, I re-seated the card, no good. Then I power cycled the system, still no good.
Those phones are still in a constant ring.
At this point I can only assume the card has gone bad!

Try swapping with another card of the same type.

Unfortunately that is not possible. We have guests everywhere and chances are we do not have room open in a specific card.
I'm going to have to call support and have them replace it.
That's going to cost me a pretty penny, I'm sure!

I think what kwbMitel was suggesting was to TEMPORARILY use another similar card that is working. If that fixes the problem, then yes, replace the card. If that does not fix the problem, then you need to look elsewhere for the problem. We are talking 2 - 3 minutes, probably no one will notice.

Well, it was the card and to compound things a bit...
The card caused the voice mail system to mulfunction, and it reduced the overall volume to most lines.
Removed the card, all is okay. Replaced the card and we are back 100%.
Thanks to all for your VERY educational input, I really appreciate it!
You all have a great weekend!

It's time to talk to someone about replacing all of your equipment.

You're just asking for trouble with the system you have.

Unless of course you can afford to be down for days on end when something serious goes wrong.

When, not If.

I agree, but upper management is clueless to the severity of the situation.

Here is the argument that I use with upper management.

In their office, ask them to point and describe any electronic device more than 5 years old. In the unlikely event one will be found, try 10 years or even 15.

Now ask them how much it would cost the company to be without it for 1 day.

Then tell them the phone system is over 20 years old.

kwbMitel,
That is a Great(!) argument!
I'v just added that to my tool bag.

Uncle Ralph

Great argument, but it will not work here.
I work w/the GM and he is, let's just say he's not very persuasive. The one to convince is the owner and he takes advice from people who don't see the whole picture.
And when he makes his own decision, it's always the cheapest option 'now', period! He is in another city.
Example? Two our of three POS terminals go out (5 years old). I ordered PCs and touch monitors to build my own (cheapest option). Adviser, cancels and replaced them w/cash registers.
You be the judge!
Example? 60" plasma refuses to change inputs, stays in tuner mode and needs to hook up to PC. Rather then buying a converter for less then $100 (adviser has not clue of it's existence), he goes out and buys another 60" plasma.
You be the judge!
They are running XP home basic on a network w/512MB ram and XP pro w/256MB ram (my PC), go figure!
I extremely frustrated, I'm looking if any of you are in Bakersfield and have openings!
Thank you and sorry for the lengthy post, but I'm sure you are laughing at my situation or feel pity for me.
