Possibly a timing problem

In x32Win10ProV22H2, have a scheduled task which is meant to take and save a screenshot of the desktop while the Task Bar is UNhidden. It performs quite unreliably - the Task Bar may or may not get captured by Snippingtool. How can I make it reliable ? If I remember correctly, the reason for using a scheduled task is to avoid a CMD screen from getting captured - it succeeds in that.

Use something other than the flakey Snipping Tool for greater reliability, something that has commandline parameters for what is captured, i.e. 'No Taskbar'.

Can you suggest a suitable alternative to Snippingtool ?

I've used Screenshot Captor for many, many years now and have been completely satisfied with it, so much so that I donated to it for its continued development. YMMV.
