Hi All,

Have a question to ask, and I know its possible to export something out into something else, but I want to try and avoid that. Let me explain!!!

I'm using SAP CR XI, and we don't have a crystal server, or anything else, just the reporting package. Is its possible to create a datasheet, or something similar (much like excel), IN CRYSTAL REPORTS, that a current crystal report could report off? I DON'T want to a add a sub-report, I want a current report to reference fields within the created datasheet.

I want it to basically do what an excel WORKBOOK, can do.

Any ideas?

Thank you!!!

Looking at the list of supported data sources it appears what you ask for is not directly supported. Exporting various types of files could be a workable option as could sub-reports depending on your application.

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve. My guess is that you want to prepare a nice looking document from some fixed data. You can use an excel file as a datasource, create a report and check the option to save it with data. Next time when you open the report the excel file will be not necessary - you will see the saved data. If you want to open the report on another computer where Crystal reports is not installed you can use the free crystal report viewer from SAP.

Viewer and Scheduler for Crystal reports and SSRS.

Not sure if I understand what you want, but you might look at creating a SQL Command. That allows you to create a query, then run a Crystal Report aginst that query.
