Did a batch change on a series of extensions, just updating the coverage path and voicemail number.
All but 2 extensions were changed successfully - when we went to update the two 'failed' extensions - by changing the coverage path, we are seeing the following error:

"Button type is not allowed on this station type of module"

It is not possible to remove or alter this extension at all.
I am able to call the number and talk with the user.
We can unplug the device and 'see' that it is disconnected from the network
Plugged back in - but still unable to make those changes.

How can we resolve this problem?
Is there a way to change the phone login password via the TUI? Just wondering ...

remove it and add it back.

'Knows enough to be dangerous. Wait... make that really dangerous.'

Hardware platform? Definity/CM software version?

set type, port hardware type?

previous set type, port hardware type?

@PBXTech:

I have turned of TTI - [TTI = N]
I have busied out the extension
I am unable to remove the extension
I cannot modify the extension in anyway
I have checked to see that there are no bridge appearances

Hardware = G450
The only thing that was updated in the batch change was the coverage path
The phone type is 9608

I even tried to do a swap between two stations, but am unable to do that either.
Nor can I dupe the station

Have you tried to reset the gateway and try again

Not that I hadn't considered it, however, I was asked to see what might be done without resetting the gateway.
Looking to see if someone out there had experienced this and was able to resolve without actually having to reset.

I see all kinds of mention about software flags - but not sure what all that is about - and had hoped that it was something like logging in and removing those flags.

sounds like you have tried everything, I would bounce the gateway

Have you tried using the remove user feature on ASA , or the find and replace you can also remove stations with that feature.

APSS (SME)
ACSS (SME)
ACIS (UC)

I think you may be right - was just hoping.

I will try that as well [then put in a request for a scheduled outage to reset the gateway]

Bouncing the gateway will not resolve a CM programming issue.

This sounds like a bug or software corruption in CM related to the station.
This can be resolved by an Avaya software corruption engineer.
Another way to resolve this is to restore CM translations from a backup created before the change that broke
the affected station. If you choose to do the restore and reload of CM, you will put all programming changes
back in as they were when the backup was created.

Post your change station and remove station error that is returned. Use terminal emulation, not gedi.
When the error is generated, what happens to your cursor? Does the admin change to a page where the conflicting
button is located?

Thank you ..
-
I logged in using terminal - you asked what happens when I do a change station, the error is always the same
"Button type is not allowed on this station type of module"
no matter what I try to change. It is also the same message I get when I try to remove the station.

As for the curser, it doesn't go anywhere, it just flashes/blinks, right where the cursor was last at ...

I do not see the error on your picture.

UGH! Sorry -- I thought that one was also uploaded

You are still using GEDI
Do not Use GEDI

get out of GEDI
use Advanced tab, then Start Emulation

change station xxxx

Try to make a change. Note where the cursor moves. Note error. Note button it's complaining about.
Post each page of the station.

Ah, yes my screenshots are using Gedi
I did do the changes in terminal - I just had the screenshots in Gedi from previous - sorry ..
-
Here they are in terminal

Tab/Page 1
Change station 33853
Attempt to change the Coverage Path 1
From "2" to "3404"
The cursor just stays right there in that field
Error is shown in the screenshot

Per your instructions
newterm cmd issued
System: Large
Software Version R106x.03.0.124.0

Attempted to change only Button 3
Result in attached image below
-
Change_to_Bttn_3_wuu3zj.png

Leave all information the same. Change only page 1 field for Button Modules: 0 (change to 3)
try to submit. This adds 3 modules to the phone.

Do this on another 9608 to see what this does to the number of pages.

Command: change extension 33853

This will allow changing to another extension. (change information on the form to a different unassigned number)
Then you could do add station 33853
