I have setup posiflex terminal as micros 3700 workstation.
I also have Epson T88-III printer which works fine on COM 1. But the drawer will not work.
I connected the drawer to CR port on terminal but do not know how to configure the drawer as there is no CR port in micros.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Not sure if you managed to sort this out?

I think the only way to make this work will be to connect the cashdrawer to the DK port on the printer and then to install OPOS drivers for this, and configure in Devices on POS Config according to the OPOS drivers. (you might be able to use the OPOS drivers on the CR Port also, not sure though)

From what I recall, the cashdrawer needs to be a 12V for it to work of the DK port on the printer.

Thanks s lot. I will try this.

Hi Mxap
Have you had any good luck?
I am facing the same issue. using OPOS with 12V but no luck
If you successfully fix it, could you share some tips?

thx

David

Nope, still not working. Tried on com2 port, switching printer to com 2 and 3. Printer wont work on any port but com1.
Plugged the drawer back of the printer still won't work.

Hi Mxap
It will be really strange that the printer is only working on COM1 but not COM2 and 3.
First of all, pls make sure that windows device and printer did not occupied any of those COM.
even you might want to check touch controller and VFD are occupied those PORT.

MICROS RECEIPT PRINTER shall be set on POS Config.
You don't have to install EPSON windows driver for printer. If you do please remove it.

Two ways:
1. on POS Config: set RS-232
2. using OPOS, set the name and then go back and set on POS Config

for VFD is the same thing. Please use OPOS. I made it work.
for the cash drawer, connect the cashdrawer to the DK port; using OPOS to SET PRINTER first and then cash drawer; it will ask you if cash drawer is under TM-T88

run the OPOS communicate test, if everything is ok, printer will print and cash drawer will kick.
Now go back to POS Config: also different way to assign drawer. You will need to set it up.

My issue now is: under OPOS, everything is ok.
1. without assign drawer, receipt will print
2. if assign drawer on OPOS, run the program, the drawer will kick but not printing.

Look like there is still one trick.
Don't know if anyone will share?

thank you

Assuming you are using Epson OPOS on some form of Win32 O/S, this is what I have on this type of setup:

1) TM88- serial interface, drawer connected to the port on the printer.
2) Setup OPOS printer in Epson util
3) Setup OPOS cash drawer in Epson - LDN needs to be
"HydraCashDrawer1" <---case sensitive
4) DO NOT use OPOS printer in MICROS, set it up as a regular old
Micros TM88 w/serial Interface
5) Add cash drawer in WS > Peripherals, with opos name
"HydraCashDrawer1" <--- case sensitive
6) There is a reg entry that MUST be made for this to work....
(Needs to be done on each workstation)
KEY NAME
=[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROS\Common\Periphs
Dll]
Add DWORD = "HydraCashDrawer"
With Value of 1
7) Reboot and try it out.
This might also be applicable:
From a command prompt on the PCWS
1. cd\micros\res\pos\bin (enter)
2. periphs.exe /regserver (enter)
3. regsvr32 periphsps.dll (enter)

Hi comet52a

I am using 5.5 right now.
But go to
register and did not find
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROS\Common\Periphs

maybe version different?

thank you

David

Hi David,
Did you get it to work?
Now, I have a different issue. Every time, I reboot Posiflex it pauses at looking for micros server. All I do is click on save and it works just fine. The IP is set as static, using ethernet cable. Check HOST file and all seem to be normal.
Any ideas?
thanks
mxap

Hi Mxap,

based on your description, your posiflex is as client terminal. If you are talking about CAL, it is normal after rebooting.

or let me guess
you set Your Posiflex as DHCP and run CAL first.
then change static IP and set the IP on POS configure later.

if yes, i will recommend that you re-run CAL again.

did you make the cash drawer work?
did you ever try directly connect to Posiflex Drawer port without connecting to Epson printer ?

thank you

David

David and comet52a,
Thank you, both.
Any idea where I can get that OPOS driver for posiflex and epson printer, please?
Thanks, again
