I have a access database that is used with our helpdesk software(clientele)..

the problem is, when certain reports are run/printed they come out in portrait even though the page setup is clearly set to landscape. they had been running fine without any problems until a few days ago...

now this plot gets even thicker.. When I run the same reports on another server, they run the way they are suppose to..

any suggestions on this one??

When you say you run them on another server, do you mean another printer as well? I am just thinking that somehow the printer settings have been changed so that Portrait overrides the format of your reports on one printer, but the other is set up normally, i.e. to accept the format set up in your DB.

Have fun!)

well, the formatting of the page when you run the report shows in portrait on my local machine and others, but on a server that runs the identical database, it displays in landscape..

this is happening before I even print..

As I say, it could be caused by the default printer's setting on each server or machine. I have had this problem with different printers on identical db's where one PC will display the report OK and another will chop the edge off the report and show the chopped off part on a second page. This happens even though the margin settings and all other settings in Print Setup for the report are the same in each db.

This is caused by the printer or printer driver set up as default on the particular PC, and affects the display even before you print, as the display is showing you what that printer will print. This can happen even on the same actual printer on different PC's because each is using a different driver, and the printer interprets the instructions from each in different ways.

I know this doesn't help much as it is more a diagnosis than a cure. My solution was to change all the settings so that they would work as I want on the maximum number of printers, but it still doesn't work on absolutely all printers and PC's.
Have fun!)

I have a similar problem with Access 2000 printing. On a new database I've just created and started using two weeks ago, one report refuses to stay as landscape. I can print the report a few times, then the next time I go to print it, the report has mysteriously changed to portrait. I reset it to landscape and it may stay for a day or so but always changes back to portrait.

I have only used this database on one printer (HP).

I have another Access 2000 database I've been using for 8 months now with a report set to landscape and it has worked flawlessly. Again I'm using the same printer for both databases.

I'm wondering, is there something I've done (unintentionally) to make this one report rebel against the landscape setting?
