Hi,

I'm currenly working for an investment bank and I'm looking for a basic portfolio management tool for our front office. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

AB

You might want to define "portfolio." At my current position in a financial institution, that word has several different meanings depending on the department/group.

Thanks for your response! This tool should be able to facilitate the management process, i.e. measures of portfolio duration, weighted average life, weighted average spread, sensitivity to spread changes, etc. Furthermore, it cannot be a trading-oriented tool.

Thanks
AB

Hello!

We currently use one the best project management soft on the market (we think anyway :). Works with PC/MAC/Linux. It's all web base and does everything from cost tracking to document management. You can find it at (HLP-SMILE is the actual name).

Thanks
Alex

This is the forum for Microsoft Project (which, at the Enterprise level, can handle a portfolio of projects). It appears you want information on investment portfolio management software. If so, you'll have to look elsewhere.

Hi AB,

The two products that I have used recently were produced by the vendors 'Niku' and 'ProSite'.

I agree with the PDQBach. I can answer you because our company also use software called PAM (Portfolio Management Software). You amy find more details on for more details.

PDQ,
Actually, this is the "Project Management General Discussion Forum"... Not the MS Project forum. While I question whether what arbo80 is looking for is really a PM tool, I'm not sure where else one would look on this site for suggestions... so fair enough to AB.

TheManiac (Scott) -- you're quite right. I hop back and forth between this forum and the MS Project forum and, obviously, my fingers had lept ahead while my brain cells were a jump behind!

Cheers mate! It does happen here, and I have done the same myself.

Best Regards,

Is this really related to Project Management? Anyway my idea about it if it's basic (I mean very basic) then you can just contract the thing to a software company if you can't find the tool on the market.
